The spring competition for the SST Competition, pitting high school students in designated athletic competitions, is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26th at Soldotna High School.
The Speed and Strength Training competition is a biannual event with the spring competition including the clean, snatch and back squat weight lifting competitions. The event will also include the Fight Gone Bad competititon; in which, athletes work to pile up as many reps as they can in 10 minutes in five separate events — box jumps, kettleball swings, push presses, ball slams and wall balls.
Each discipline is separated into four classificiations; freshman and sophomore girls, freshman and sophomore boys, junior and senior girls and junior and senior boys.
Last fall, students from Kenai Central, Soldotna and Nikiski all competed at Kenai in events ranging from the 40-yard dash to a straight vertical jump event.
