The Soldotna Stars volleyball team earned the top spot in the Silver Bracket at the Dimond/Service Volleyball Tournament Saturday, following a pool-play rounds on Friday.
South Anchorage, reigning 4A state champions, won the Gold Bracket defeating Dimond in the final pairing.
The SoHi girls defeated 2013 3A state runner-up Mt. Edgecumbe in the Silver Bracket final; following a victory over 2013 3A champion Grace Christian. SoHi finished Friday’s pool play at 4-4. SoHi’s Hayley Ramsell was named to the all-tournament team.
KCHS placed third in the Silver Bracket; Nikiski finished finished tied for third. Kenai finished pool play at 4-4 and Nikiski finished pool play at 2-6.
