Soldotna opened its Northern Lights Conference season with a two-match sweep of the Kodiak Bears on Kodiak’s home floor with victories on Friday and Saturday.
SoHi 3 -Kodiak 0 Friday
The Stars sweep Kodiak Friday holding-off Kodiak 25-23 in game one, 31-29 in game two and 25-20 in game three. Aliann Schmidt had seven kills, Ituau Tuisaula had five kills, Kodi McGillivray had five kills, and Brittani Blossom had five kills in the SoHi win.
SoHi 3 -Kodiak 1 Saturday
SoHi won the Saturday pairing three games to one against the Bears. SoHi won game one 25-21 and game two 25-20. The Stars dropped game three 24-26 and closed the match with a 25-23 game four victory.
The SoHi girls travle to the Valley next week for games against Houston on Thursday and Palmer on Friday and Saturday.
