For a second-straight night against a Northern Lights Conference opponent on the road, the Soldotna Stars girls and boys varsity teams show promise but fail to post a victory against a 4A basketball program.
Wasilla Girls 45 – SoHi Girls 34
The Warrior girls opened up a nine-point lead in the first quarter 19-10 and the SoHi girls never closed closer than seven points; as the Warriors defeat SoHi 45-34 in Northern Lights Conference basketball action at Wasilla High School.
Drysta Crosby-Schneider lead the Stars with 15 points and Ellie Burns added 11 for SoHi. The Lady Stars stand at 0-2 in conference play. SoHi faces Palmer on Saturday at 1 p.m. to close their three-game swing in the Valley.
Wasilla Boys 52 – SoHi 32
The SoHi boys scored 16 points in the first quarter and trailed Wasilla 18-16 after one quarter. The problem for SoHi, the Stars only scored 16 more points in the final three quarters and fell to Wasilla 52-32. SoHi trailed 27-18 at the half and 39-25 after three quarters. Ethan Sewell lead SoHi with 14 points. The SoHi boys stand at 0-2 in NLC play. The Star boys pay Palmer on Saturday at 3 p.m.
