Stars Hockey Closes Regular Season With 7-3 Victory Over Houston

A three-goal, hat trick for David Aley and a 7-3 victory on Senior Night for the Soldotna Stars hockey team on Friday at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

The Stars finish regular season play with a 9-1 Railbelt Conference record and lock-down the top spot in the Railbelt Conference and an automatic berth to the Division II ASAA State Hockey Championships.

SoHi 7 – Houston 3

The Stars opened the scoring with an Ethan Yeager goal in the first period.  Houston tied the game at 1-1 with only 3 seconds remaining in the first by Isaiah Squires.  Squires gave Houston the lead just 12 seconds into the second period with a second goal.

SoHi scored a pair of goals in the second with David Aley and Wyatt Medcoff scoring to give SoHi a 3-2 lead after two periods.  Aley added two, third period goals for the hat trick; Lucas Kline and JD Schmelzenbach added single goals.  Final Score: SoHi 7, Houston 3

 

Palmer 5 – Kenai 2

Kenai Game Schedule

Kenai faces-off against Houston on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Kenai Multipurpose Facility to close the Kardinals regular season.  Game coverage will be provided on ESPN 1140AM and www.radiokenai.com
