The Soldotna Stars improved to 4-4-1 in the North Star Conference with a 4-1 road win in Homer on Thursday against the Homer Mariners (1-9).
The Mariners scored the only goal of the first period for a 1-0 lead. SoHi answered with a pair of second period goals, one for Galen Brantley III and a goal for Matt Dougherty. The Stars added a pair of third period goals; one for Cory Hansen and a second for Brantley. Final Score: SoHi 4, Homer 1.
The Stars and Kardinals face-off on Saturday night in the final regular season game in the North Star Conference.
Saturday’s game will be played at the Kenai Ice Rink. Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
