Eleven straight and counting for the Kenai girls soccer team and the SoHi boys remain unbeaten in Peninsula Conference games following Monday’s conference pairings at SoHi.

Kenai Girls 2 – SoHi Girls 0

The Kardinal girls improve to 11-0 on the season and 5-0 in the Peninsula Conference with a 2-0 shut out of the SoHi girls at Justin Maile Field.

Kenai’s Brynnen Hanson entered a shot on the SoHi goal which ricocheted into the goal for a 1-0 Kenai lead in the first half.  A Chloe Grimm secured the victory for Kenai with the only goal of the second half on a cold and windy night at SoHi.

Maddie Malone recorded the shut out in goal for Kenai.

SoHi Boys 2 – Kenai Boys 1

A dramatic penalty kick in stoppage time by Soldotna’s Simon Willets staked the SoHi boys to a 2-1 Peninsula Conference victory on Monday.

SoHi’s Daniel Heath opened the scoring in the 10th minute; which proved to be the only goal for SoHi until the game-winner.  Kenai’s Enrique Mercado evened the contest late in the second half with a goal in the 79th minute.  SoHi goalie  Luke Hillyer turned-away numerous Kenai attacks and earned the victory in goal.  The win for the Stars was the second of the season with the decisive goal on a penalty kick by Willets; both against the Kardinals.
