A first period, power play goal for the Soldotna Stars gave SoHi a 1-0 lead about ten minutes into the non-divisional game against the Colony Knights; unfortunately, that goal proved to be the only SoHi goal and the game ends in a 1-1 tie following eight minutes of overtime.

SoHi opened with a Jace Applehans goal at 10:36 of the first period.  Colony’s Carsen Lantto scored late in the second period to tie the game at 1-1.  Both teams fought-off numerous power-play opportunities during a scoreless third period and scoreless overtime.

SoHi goaltender Jackson Purcell recorded 43 saves on 44 Colony shots.  Knights goalie Malachi Mukaabya stopped 23 of 24 shots.

Fina Score: SoHi 1 – Colony 1

The Soldotna Stars return to Railbelt Conference play next week when SoHi travels to Juneau for a pair of games against conference rival Juneau Crimson Bears.
