The high school baseball season opened for the Soldotna Stars with the Stars traveling to Kodiak for a scheduled two-day, four-game series on the Rock. The teams played a pair on Thursday before being weathered-out on Friday.
SoHi 10 – Kodiak 0
The Stars opened with a 10-0 mercy-rule shutout of the Bears behind a six-inning, shutout effort on the mound by Atticus Gibson. SoHi’s Riley Johnson and Nate Mowery had two hits.
SoHi 15 – Kodiak 3
Riley Johnson opened with four innings on the mound for SoHi and Derrick Jones and Levi Mickelson each threw two innings in the 15-3 victory.
