A full slate of home soccer games for SoHi and Kenai and a pair of road contests for the Nikiski Bulldogs opened on Thursday with victories for the SoHi girls and boys, the Kenai girls and boys and the Nikiski girls.
Thursday Soccer Results
SoHi Girls 2 – Homer 0
The Stars downed Homer 2-0 on the strength of goals by Journey Miller and Paulyne Catacutan.
SoHi Boys 4 – Homer 2
Josh Hieber scored twice and Eli Sheridan and Sam McElroy scored single goals to defeat Homer 4-2.
Kenai Girls 3 – Ketchikan 2
The Kardinal girls topped Ketchikan in non-conference action 3-2 with goals by Julia Hanson, Liz Hanson and Brenna Eubank.
Kenai Boys 3 – Ketchikan 1
Zack Tuttle scored a three-goal, hat trick to lead the Kards to a 3-1 victory on non-conference play against the Kings.
Nikiski Girls 4 – Joe Redington 2
The Bulldogs recorded their first win of the season with a 4-2 victory over Joe Redington High School. Jordyn Stock and America Jefferies each scored twice for the Bulldogs.
Nikiski Boys 0 – Joe Redington 0
The Bulldog boys tied Redington 0-0 in a non-conference pairing.
