The Soldotna Stars posted their fourth-straight victory of the football season with a commanding defeat of a second-straight, Division I program from Anchorage; SoHi overpowering South Anchorage 42-8 on Friday night on the Stars Homecoming.

The Stars scored on three, straight possessions in the first half following an opening drive which ended with a fumble on the one-yard line that was recovered in the end zone for a touchback for South.
On the second possession, SoHi scored on a 45-yard run by Lokeni Wong to lead 7-0. A second quarter 1-yard touchdown run by Wyatt Faircloth and a 28-yard touchdown run by Gehret Medcoff staked the Stars to a 21-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, SoHi struck on three-straight possessions. An 8-yard touchdown run for Faircloth opened the second half scoring. Quarterback Zac Buckbee connected with tight end Aidan Gavalis on a 64-yard touchdown pass for a 35-0 lead. An 8-yard touchdown run by Wong closed the SoHi scoring while the SoHi defense forced South to punt on six-straight possessions before SoHi recovered a fumble to stop South mid-way through the third quarter. The Wolverines scored a fourth quarter touchdown against the Stars back-up defense. Final Score: SoHi 42- South 8
SoHi improves to 4-0 on the season and is scheduled to play four Northern Lights Conference opponents in the next four weeks. The Stars face Chugiak on Friday, September 9th at Soldotna High School.
