Senior Night for the Soldotna Stars soccer teams produced a pair of victories over rival Kenai and secured the #1 seed for both the SoHi girls and SoHi boys for the upcoming Peninsula Conference Championships.
SoHi Girls 4 – Kenai 1
Rhys Cannava recorded a three-goal, hat trick and Bay Bloom and Lily Coon combined for the final goal for the Stars in the 4-1 win over Kenai at SoHi on Tuesday. Kenai’s Bethany Morris netted the Kardinals’ lone goal.
SoHi Boys 1 – Kenai 0
SoHi’s Ty Wackler scored the only goal and game-winning goal in the first half of a 1-0 shutout for the Soldotna Stars over Kenai. Gehret Medcoff recorded the shutout in goal for the Stars.
Both SoHi soccer teams have clinch the #1 seed for the upcoming Peninsula Conference Soccer Tournament scheduled for May 20-22 at Kenai Central High School. The SoHi girls and boys sport matching (unofficial) 5-0-1 records in conference play.
