Stars Split & Kenai Sweeps Peninsula Conference Soccer Pairings

Kenai and SoHi hosted Peninsula Conference soccer pairings on Tuesday with the Kardinals dominating play against the Nikiski Bulldogs and the Soldotna Stars splitting games with the Homer Mariners.

 

Kenai Girls 10 – Nikiski 0

Sarah Baisden recorded a three-goal, hat trick to lead the Kenai girls in a 10-0 shutout of the Nikiski Bulldog girls at KCHS.  Kenai lead 4-0 with first half goals by Kori Moore, Baisden, Rylie Sparks and Kate Wisnewski.  Baisden added a pair of goals in the second half and Tait Cooper, Leah Fallon, Moore and Sparks scored single, second half goals.

 

Kenai Boys 15 – Nikiski 2

Kenai dominated play in a 15-2 victory over the Nikiski boys.  Included in the scoring for Kenai were: Aloshia Cross, Samuel Baisden, Enrique Mercado, Sawyer Vann, Daniel Shelden, Wade James, Ben Boersma, Cole Langham and Dresden Reith (complete game statistics not available).

Nikiski scorers included Ayden Fleming and David Weathers.

 

SoHi Boys 3 – Homer 0

The Star boys scored twice in the first half with Brock Poe recording both SoHi goals.  A second half goal by Maleda Denbrock closed the scoring in the 3-0 SoHi victory.

 

Homer Girls 1 – SoHi 0

In a low scoring, low offensive attack contest, the SoHi girls fell 1-0 to the Homer Mariners.  Homer’s lone goal was scored by Debbie Weisser in the first half.  A scoreless second half and Homer recorded a 1-0 Peninsula Conference victory with Felicia Weisser recording a shutout in goal for the Homer Mariners.
