The latest member of the Railbelt Conference, the Kodiak Bears, hosted the Soldotna Stars in Kodiak in conference hockey on Friday and Saturday and the Stars produced a two-game sweep of the Bears.
SoHi 4 – Kodiak 0 Friday
SoHi goalie Ayden See recorded 15 saves and a shut out for the Stars in a 4-0 victory over Kodiak. SoHi goals were scored by Dylan Dahlgren, Dawson Lockwood, Boone Theiler and Kyle Howell.
SoHi 4 – Kodiak 2 Saturday
The first period opened with a Kodiak goal by Colin McCarthy followed by an Andrew Arthur, SoHi goal to tie the game at 1-1. The two teams traded goals with SoHi’s Lockwood scoring and Kodiak’s Blake Terry answering for a 2-2 tie.
SoHi held the lead after two periods with a Daniel Heath, short-handed goal. Kodiak’s Max Cook re-ties the game at 3-3 early in the third period.
The game-winner for the Stars came at 13:59 in the third period off the stick of Boone Theiler.
Tanner Clyde recorded 14 saves for the Stars; Kodiak’s Noah Baxter recorded 22 saves.
Schedule Change
The SoHi vs Homer hockey game scheduled for Tuesday, November 23rd has been rescheduled to November 30th at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.
