The Soldotna High School nordic ski teams, both girls and boys, won the team titles on consecutive days at the Homer Invitational Nordic Ski Meet.
Girls Nordic Ski Results
On Friday on the Lookout Mountain trails, Homer’s Autumn Daigle topped the field in the girls 5K Classic race with a time of 20:00. Kenai’s Jayna Boonstra and SoHi’s Jordan Ruffner finished second and third.
Saturday, Daigle again posted the fastest individual time winning the girls 5K Skate race in 19:21. Kenai’s Jayna Boonstra and SoHi’s Jordan Ruffner finished second and third.
Boys Nordic Ski Results
In the Boys 5K Classic on Friday in Homer, The Soldotna boys raced to the top five positions lead by a first place finish for Jack Harris in a time of 17:01. SoHi’s Foster Boze, Quinn Cox, Ryder Giesler and David Grinestaff finished 2nd through 5th.
On Saturday in the Boys 5K Skate event, Harris again lead a pack of five SoHi skiers in the top six. Harris posted a time of 16:54 for first place. SoHi’s Ryder Giesler placed second; Kenai’s Josh Foster placed third followed by SoHi’s Quinn Cox and Foster Boze.
Region III Nordic Ski Championships
All Region III schools are eligible to compete at the 2020 Region III Nordic Ski Championships to be hosted by Colony High School on the Government Peak Recreation Area and scheduled for Friday and Saturday, February 7th and 8th.
