The Senate State Affairs committee heard and held hearings for the governor’s Board of Fisheries appointees.
Committee chair Bill Stoltze said members would likely sign paperwork to advance them tomorrow(April 14).
Soldotna resident Robert Ruffner was questioned by committee members for about an hour before public testimony was taken.
Ruffner is the executive director of the Kenai Watershed Forum and was appointed in March to the seat formerly held by Karl Johnstone.
Orville Huntington of Huslia has served on the board since 2012 and is considered by many as a subsistence representative.
His hearing, including public testimony, took less than ten minutes.
