Alaska’s Alcoholic Beverage Control Board will meet in Kenai on Monday, followed by two days of meetings for the Marijuana Control Board. Both meetings are open to the public, with times scheduled for public comments.

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board meeting agenda contains mostly items regarding new, current, or somehow expired alcohol licenses, no new regulations.

The Marijuana Control Board meeting agenda has four draft items up for board consideration, the topics of which include sample jars, handler permit renewal fees, following approved operating plans, and inspection parameters.  The board may consider those items, add any amendments, and potentially put those topics out for public comment.

There are also seven items on the MCB’s agenda up for members to potentially vote on:

  1. Extend video storage retention time
  2. Out-of-state investment in testing facilities
  3. Definition of residency
  4. License conversion
  5. Ownership change without licensee change; license expiration for renewal; wholesale concentrates to retail licensee
  6. Expiration of public notice
  7. All licensees to have handler permits; effective date of ownership change

The agenda states that if those items are significantly amended, the board will put them back out for public comment before voting whether or not to adopt.

The Alcoholic Beverage Control Board will meet first on Monday, October 15, beginning at 10 am in the Kenai Courthouse. The Marijuana Control Board will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 16-17, beginning at 9:00 am, also in the Kenai Courthouse.
