The ASAA Division II State Baseball championship game will be a repeat pairing of the Southcentral Conference tournament championship game of a week ago; Palmer, the champion of the SCC, will face Kodiak, conference runner-up, in the state championship game on Saturday in Wasilla.
Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Wasilla High School field.
Palmer 7 – SoHi 1
The Soldotna Stars managed a single run against Palmer in the winner’s bracket game on Friday as the Palmer Moose recorded a 7-1 victory and advance to the Division II championship game on Saturday.
Palmer’s Landon Guggenmos struck out 13 Stars in seven innings.
Soldotna’s Daltyn Debroski lead the Stars offense going 2-for-4 with a double and a triple. Josh Pieh threw five innings allowing seven runs.
Soldotna will play in the 3rd/5th Place game on Saturday against North Pole with the game scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
Kodiak 4 – North Pole 3
The Kodiak Bears defeated the #1 Mid-Alaska seed North Pole 4-3 to advance the Bears to the ASAA Division II State Baseball championship game.
The Bears scored a pair of runs in the top of the sixth for a 4-3 lead and held-off the Patriots for the victory. Micah Arndt earned a complete game win on the mound allowing only six hits and recording six strikeouts.
Kodiak advances to the ASAA Division II State Baseball championship game on Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Wasilla High field to face the Palmer Moose in a rematch of the Southcentral Conference championship game.
Consolation Round: Friday Game Scores
Homer 3 – Petersburg 2
Liam Houlihan drove in the winning run in the top of the seventh inning, executing a squeeze bunt to score Josiah Raymond and give the Mariners a 3-2 lead.
Austin Ceccarelli threw a complete game on the mound for the Mariners.
Homer will face Monroe in the 4th/6th Place game on Saturday, scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Wasilla High field.
Monroe Catholic 12 – Grace Christian 8
Monroe recorded 1 hits in a 12-8 victory over Grace Christian.
