State Basketball Tournaments Advance Teams To Saturday’s Finals

The ASAA March Madness Alaska continued on Friday with 4th-place games in 3A basketball and the 4A basketball teams returning for second-round action at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.

 

The early session featured the Redington girls and Mt.Edgecumbe boys claiming 4th-place in the 3A division.

The first round (Wednesday) 4A teams which recorded losses, returned to consolation round games on Friday to determine teams for Saturday’s 4th-place contests.

4A winner’s bracket games fill the afternoon and evening sessions.  All #1 and #2 seeds, girls and boys, advanced through opening round games.

 

4A Winner’s Bracket Schedule & Results

ACS Girls 67 – Ketchikan 37    Ketchikan led 11-9 after first quarter; ACS led 36-17 at the half.  ACS Lions advance to 4A girls championship game on Saturday.  ACS won four-straight 3A championships from 2016-21.

Wasilla 44 – West Anchorage 23  The Warriors led 21-4 at the half.  Wasilla advances to play ACS in girls championship game on Saturday.

East Anchorage 45 – Colony 43  Colony lead 17-15 at the half.  East advances to the 4A boys championship game on Saturday.

South 57 – Dimond 53  South advances to the 4A boys championship game on Saturday.

 

4A Girl Consolation Round Results

Colony 51 – Lathrop 40   Colony advances to the 4th-Place Game on Saturday

Bartlett 46 – Dimond 39  Bartlett advances to the 4th-Place Game on Saturday

 

4A Boys Consolation Round Results

Palmer 48 – Kodiak 45  Palmer advances to the 4th-Place Game on Saturday

West Valley 60 – Juneau 37  West Valley advances to the 4th-Place Game on Saturday

 

3A Girls Consolation Round Results

4th Place Game:  Redington 47 – Valdez 21

3A Boys Consolation Round Results

4th Place Game:  Mt. Edgecumbe 63 – Barrow 60
