The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will host their annual State of the Kenai luncheon at noon on Wednesday at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center.

Mayor Brian Gabriel and City Manager Paul Ostrander will be the speakers, offering their State of the City address.  Shanon Davis, Soldotna Chamber of Commerce: “We do have a luncheon tomorrow – I say ‘we’ – it’s actually not a joint luncheon, it’s the Kenai Chamber Lunchon. It’ll be at the Kenai Visitors Center and it’s going to be an update on the city of Kenai. The speakers will be Brian Gabriel who is the mayor of Kenai, and Paul Ostrander, the City Manager, and I just wanted to give a shout-out to Kenai because I think I’m gonna head on over and see what our friends in Kenai are up to for the year.”

During last year’s address, Mayor Gabriel and City Manager Ostrander discussed the city’s budget, plans for generating revenue, public services projects, and the state of city projects going on at the time.  They also discussed the impact of bills proposed at the time by Governor Mike Dunleavy, and attendees can expect more of the same updates for 2020-21 at Wednesday’s luncheon.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting, though RSVPing for eating at the luncheon has been closed as of the publication of the article.
