State Park Annual Pass Prices Increasing January 1

Alaska State Parks annual passes, overnight fees, and boat launch fees will increase as of January 1, 2015.

 

Clair LeClair with the Department of Natural Resources said that these upcoming fee increases were included in the the Fiscal Year 2015 State Parks Operating Budget.

LeClair: “The first of those fee increases were initiated in mid May of this year and that was the raising of the fees for reserved use of public use cabin. Those fee’s were raised an average of $10 per cabin per night, so that fee increase has already accrued and been in place since May. The fees that are going up January 1st include the annual daily parking decal, the annual boat launch decal and then overnight camping fees,  daily boating launching and reserved use of park facilities.”

 

Daily fee parking at developed areas like trailheads will not increase but the annual parking pass will increase from $40 – $50.

 

The annual boat launch pass will increase from $75, which is what is has been since 1997, to $100.

 

The new daily fees for overnight camping and boat launching vary by location but most represent a $5 increase.
