If the initiative legalizing the use of recreational marijuana is approved by Alaskan voters this year, it would provide the state with another source of revenue.
The co-chair of Senate Finance Pete Kelly and Finance member Mike Dunleavy were asked about the potential new income…
Senate Majority: “I don’t want it. There’s no discussion that needs to happen, I don’t want it, I don’t want legalization of marijuana. If it’s passed, I don’t see it replacing oil as our main revenue source. Although, smoking is our second largest… smoking and drinking.”
If it passes, Alaska would be the third state in the union to approve such an initiative.
Laws are currently being implemented in Colorado and Washington.
