The 2017 ASAA State Soccer Championships continued play and the Kenai Kardinal girls and Kardinal boys battled in Friday soccer action.
Second Round Results: Friday, May 25th
The Kardinal girls, in the consolation bracket, were eliminated on Friday with a 2-0 loss to the Colony Knights. Colony advances to the 4th place game on Saturday.
The Kenai boys, in the winner’s bracket semi-final, fell to West Valley 2-0; the first time since the opening game of the season that the Kardinal boys have been shut out.
The Kenai boys face West Anchorage at 1:15 p.m.on Saturday at Service in the 3rd place game.

First Round Results: Thursday, May 25th
The Kardinal girls, #3 team from the Northern Lights Conference, fell to 2016 state champion Dimond 4-0 in the tournament’s first game at Eagle River High School.
The Kenai girls face Colony at noon on Friday at Eagle River in the consolation round.
The Kenai boys, champions of the Northern Lights Conference, downed the Juneau Douglas Crimson Bears 1-0 in the first boys game at Eagle River.
The Kenai boys face West Valley at 2:00 p.m.on Friday at Service in the winner’s bracket semi-final.
