Construction season is upon us and one of many of the ongoing projects is Alaska Roadbuilder’s Sterling job.
Traffic Control Supervisor Linda Carpenter said at this time, there are only lane shifts and both traffic directions are still flowing.
Carpenter: “I’m trying to keep my work zones as short as possible but sometimes that’s impossible to do, I know that they expect to get into Sterling and pass the pokey ones but I try to have a little bit of space on either side for passing and hopefully it works out.”
The Sterling project is slated to be done by July 31st and Carpenter reminded drivers to drive cautiously during the construction season.
Carpenter: “Be slow and be cautious and please do the speed limit, which has not changed out here, its just double fines.”
