The desire to donate to this year’s 8th annual Country Cares For St. Jude Kids Radiothon led three third graders from Soldotna Montessori Charter School to sell hand-made items in their school store, raising $84.
Grace, Trevor, and Paycience stopped by our studios Wednesday afternoon to drop of the check where they spoke with us about the items they’d made to sell.
Paycience also wrote a poem about St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital…
The three 9-year-olds say they plan to organize the same kind of craft sales in the coming years to raise money to find the cure for childhood diseases.
As of 5:00 pm Thursday, the Radiothon has raised almost $5,000 since 6 am. You can still become a Partner in Hope by calling 283-4504 or 1-800-726-5334 to make a donation to the efforts to find cures for various childhood diseases.
The 8th annual Country Cares For St. Jude Kids Radiothon on 100.1 FM, KWHQ is going on until 7 pm Friday, April 15.
