Join the City of Soldotna at the 34th Sweeney’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, presented by the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy traditional Irish music, lively floats, and the celebration of Irish culture, Soldotna-style.
The annual parade was started 34 years ago by Mike Sweeney, owner of Sweeney’s Clothing in Soldotna.
“We had the fire department, we had people from Kasilof that were in the parade, we had people all over town, and then the next year it just grew. It doubled and doubled again.” Sweeney said.
He anticipates the participation is going to be great and that there’s a lot of interest this year.
The parade is on Mon. March 17 @ 4:30 pm.
The line-up will begin at 4 p.m. at Parker Park, located on W Park Ave in Soldotna near the U.S. Postal Service building.
For those who want to participate, Heidi Sorrell, Executive Director of the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, said, “There is no need to sign up. Line up, and you’re in the parade.”
