T-200 Leaders Take Mandatory Rest At Centennial Lake: Prepare For Run To Finish

The lead teams in the 2019 Tustumena 200 have reached the Centennial Lake checkpoint and will take a mandatory four hour layover before making a 46.3 mile run to the finish at Freddie’s Roadhouse.

 

Dave Turner, the first musher into the Centennial Lake checkpoint, will be cleared to leave for the finish at Freddie’s at 10:12 a.m. Sunday morning.  Three past champions Cym Smith (out at 10:26); Nicolas Petit (out at 11:15 a.m.) and Lance Mackey (out at 11:24) are among the leaders at the final checkpoint.

 

Based on running time from Freddie’s Roadhouse to Centennial Lake, the leaders may cover the final leg of the race in a time under four hours  making for a race finish around 2 p.m. Sunday.
