T-200 Teams Reach Halfway Point Before Midnight Saturday

Dave Turner, the first musher out of the Homer McNeil Canyon checkpoint, guided the first team into the halfway point of the Tustumena 200 Sled Dog Race at Freddie’s Roadhouse reaching the midway point at 11:07 p.m. on Saturday night.

 

Turner’s team covered the 83.1 miles to Freddie’s Roadhouse in 10 hours and 55 minutes.  Cym Smith and Lance Mackey followed Turner into the halfway point.

 

Live coverage of the Tustumena 200 finish will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM and www.radiokenai.com on Sunday afternoon, with updates available on 1140AM.
