Then There Was One: SoHi Girls Basketball Remains Unbeaten

With a month remaining in the regular season for peninsula basketball, the Soldotna Lady Stars stand as the only unbeaten team sporting a 7-0 record against Kenai Peninsula 3A teams.  The Kenai Kardinal boys suffered their first loss in Seward on Saturday.

 

SoHi Girls 41 – Homer 15

Defense again lead the Stars to an overpowering 41-15 victory over Homer.  Morgan Bouschor and Josie Sheridan each scored nine points for the Stars.

SoHi Boys 45 – Homer 52

The Star boys trailed 24-21 at the half and traded baskets throughout the second half, as Homer posted a 52-45 victory over SoHi.  Homer improves to 5-1 and the Stars stand at 1-5 on the regular season.  Maleda Denbrock lead SoHi with 10 points; Clayton Beachy topped the Mariners with 17 points.

Seward 33 – Kenai Girls 29

The Kardinal girls managed only 10 points in the first half in Seward, as the Kenai girls fell 33-29 to the Seahawks.  Seward recorded its first victory lead by a 12-point effort by Shelley Sieminski .  Emma Beck lead Kenai with 16 points.

Seward Boys 53 – Kenai 47

The Kardinal boys were knocked from the undefeated on Saturday by the Seward Seahawks; Kenai unable to mount an offense in the first half and trailing 22-13 at the half. Lucas Tunseth and Jordan Kvasnikoff had each scored 12 for Kenai.
