1 AM Update
The Kenai Police Department is still looking for two of the five juveniles who escaped from the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility located on Marathon Road.
Police Chief Gus Sandahl described the juveniles at large.
Sandahl: “The other two are both 5 foot 8, between 120-160 pounds, both are Caucasian males with brown hair and are possibly wearing blue sweatshirts with blue facility pants.”
Police have advised that if anyone sees any individuals matching this description to please contact the Kenai Police Department at 283-7879 or 911.
Sandahl: “The subjects were involved with an assault on guards at the facility.”
Residents should not try to apprehend or call out to them as they could be dangerous.
9:40 pm Update:
Three of the five escapees have been apprehended by the Kenai Police Department near the ice rink by the Challenger Learning Center in Kenai.
Two males are still at large and the Kenai Police are still requesting Kenai residents to be on the look out and contact them at 283-7879 if they see anything suspicious.
