The Department of Health and Social Services Thursday announced 210 new people identified with COVID-19 in Alaska. 210 are residents in: Chevak (58), Anchorage (55), Bethel Census Area (23), Wasilla (22), Kenai (9), Nome Census Area (8), Bethel (6), Fairbanks (5), Juneau (3), Soldotna (3), Eagle River (3), Chugiak (2), Palmer (2), Utqiaġvik (2) and one each in Delta Junction, Kotzebue, Kusilvak Census Area, Mat-Su Borough, Nikiski, North Slope Borough, Skagway, Valdez and Valdez-Cordova Census Area.
No new nonresident cases were identified yesterday. One nonresident case and 22 resident cases were added to the data dashboard through data verification procedures. This brings the total number of Alaska resident cases to 11,837 and the total number of nonresident cases to 1,040.
ALERT LEVELS – The current statewide alert level, based on the average daily case rate over 14 days per 100,000, is high at 26.76 per 100,000. Regional alert levels are noted below:

CASES: SEX & AGES – Of the 210 Alaska residents, 95 are male, 113 are female and two are unknown. 22 are under the age of 10; 37 are aged 10-19; 35 are aged 20-29; 29 are aged 30-39; 23 are aged 40-49; 32 are aged 50-59; 23 are aged 60-69; seven are aged 70-79 and two are aged 80 or older.
CASES: HOSPITALIZATIONS & DEATHS – There have been a total of 378 hospitalizations and 68 deaths, with three new hospitalizations and no new deaths reported. Individuals who no longer require isolation (recovered cases) total 6,170.
There are currently 41 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 who are hospitalized and 0 additional patients who are considered persons under investigation (PUI) for a total of 41 current COVID-related hospitalizations. Five of these patients are on ventilators.
TESTING – A total of 548,709 tests have been conducted, with 7,810 tests conducted in the previous seven days. The average percentage of daily positive tests for the previous seven days is 5.22%.
