The latest update from the Division of Forestry stated that as of Thursday morning the Tyonek fire had grown to 1,820 acres.
Public Information Officer Sara Sarloos said that firefighters are working to protect the Beluga Power Plant.
Most of the fire’s growth was due to spot fires according to Saarloos
She said that 5 structures have been lost, none of them residences.
