The Better Business Bureau of Alaska, Oregon and Washington has recently received a slew of complaints alleging a time share company is conning thousands of dollars from customers.
Dozens of complaints have said that Classic Connections Travel Company starts by calling and saying they represent a buyer who is interested in purchasing the customer’s Mexican timeshare and offers no up-front fees.
However just before the deal closes, the company claims the Mexican government needs prepayment of taxes and fees.
Complaints filed with the BBB state that customers wire the money – anywhere from $2,350 to $156,000 – and afterwards all communications to and from Classic Connections Travel Company end.
Complaints against the company have come from all over the country.
The Better Business Bureau says anyone who recieves a call like this should gather facts, read reviews, be wary of wire transfers, and avoid upfront fees, especially if the property is not listed for sale.
