Top-5 Marks Set At Peninsula Quad Track

With competition in four individual events, two relays and two field events; the Kenai section of the Peninsula Quad Meet produced five Region III Top-5 performances at KCHS on Thursday.

 

Peninsula Quad: Girls

The Soldotna Star girls won all four running events and the girls long jump.

Sarah Brown ran 13.51 to win the girls 100M; Annie Burns posted a 1:04.12 for first in the 400M, third fastest time in Region III.  In the 1600M, Tania Boonstra ran 5:51.91, the only runner under the six-minute mark; and Anaulie Sedivy posted a 51:49 in the 300M hurdles.  The Star girls also won the 4X200M relay and the 4X800M relay.

Kenai’s Emma Beck topped all throwers in the girls shot put with a toss of 34′ 8″, good for third on the Region III Top-5 list.

 

Peninsula Quad: Boys

SoHi’s Leigh Tacey edged-out Kenai’s Reagan Graves by 1/100th of a second to win the boys 100M in 11.60.  Kenai’s Jack Laker won the 400M ( 56.51) and Gregory Fallon ran-away in the 1600M (4:43.41).  SoHi’s Wyatt Faircloth topped the field in the 300M hurdles at 43.98.

In the field events, SoHi’s Kevin Steger threw 125′ 6″ in the discus , the fourth-best in Region III; Nikiski’s Dwight Mullins jumped 34′ 41/2″ in the triple jump.

The SoHi boys ran a Region III best 1:33.70 in the 4X200M relay; SoHi also won the 4X800M relay.

Boys
