Alaska State Troopers, on Wednesday November 23rd, 2022, at 6:22 pm, were notified of an overdue hunter in the Swanson River area of Sterling.
The hunter, Michael Glover, age 47 of Sterling, had left to hunt alone around 11:00 am Wednesday, and had not returned well after dark.
Alaska Wildlife Troopers, assisted by Central Emergency Services fire personnel, and a helicopter from the Rescue Coordination Center began searching for Glover.
At 4:57 am Thursday, November 24th, CES personnel located Glover in a remote area off of the trail.
Glover had sustained an injury to his ankle and was unable to walk.
Glover was transported out of the area by firefighters and transported to a Central Peninsula Hospital for treatment of his injury.
