The Soldotna Alaska State Troopers stopped Jeremy Dawson, 48 years old, from Ninilchik, for moving violations in Sterling on Friday March 18th, 2023, at 9:35 p.m.
A citizen had also called about 20 minutes earlier and reported Dawsons’ vehicle was driving dangerously from Soldotna to Sterling.
During the stop, it was determined that Dawson was under the influence of drugs, had a suspended driver’s license, and was in possession of controlled substances.
He was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), driving with a suspended license, and possession of controlled substances.
Dawson was taken into custody and later remanded to the Wildwood Correctional Complex.
The Soldotna Alaska State Troopers would like to remind the public that driving under the influence of drugs and possession of controlled substances are serious offenses and pose a significant danger to the community.
They urge everyone to make responsible decisions when operating a motor vehicle and to never drive while under the influence.
