Alaska State Troopers are charging an Anchor Point man with reckless driving after he hit a school bus near Ninilchik on January 8.

At around 8:48 am that Friday, Troopers responded to a REDDI report that a black, Chevy pickup was traveling northbound and lost control, hitting a school bus near mile 139 of the Sterling Highway.

There were no children on the bus. The black truck was driven by 56-year-old Troy Huber and the school bus was driven by 54-year-old Sharon Wheeler of Ninilchik, who was wearing her seatbelt.

Ninilchik EMS responded and transported Huber to Central Peninsula Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers stated in the online report that they will be charging him with reckless driving.
