A reported domestic assault prompted Alaska State Trooper response in Kasilof earlier this month. On February 4 at around 10:00 p.m., troopers responded to a report that Craig Fales, age 51 of Clam Gulch, had assaulted a family member.
According to the online trooper dispatch, troopers discovered that Fales had taken property by force valued at more than $750, while also threatening the victim with a metal shovel. Troopers also say that Fales injured the victim during the assault and prevented a call to 911 when he stole the victim’s cell phone.
This was not Fales’ first bout of legal trouble, as trooper dispatch notes that he had been convicted previously on two occasions in the past ten years for domestic assault.
Fales was arrested for first degree robbery, second degree theft, two counts of third degree assault, as well as interfering with the report of a domestic violence crime. He was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial.
