Alaska State Troopers have issued a public warning about a person of interest in connection to a series of burglaries in the Cooper Landing area.
In a public notice, the Department of Public Safety said the person is an adult male. Troopers are asking anyone who is on the roadway in Cooper Landing not to pick up any hitchhikers.
“We’re asking residents of Cooper Landing be vigilant,” said Austin McDaniel, Communications Director for the Department of Public Safety. “We have a picture of this person up on the Alaska State Trooper website as well as our Facebook page and on the AK Tips smartphone app. We’re also asking folks in the Cooper Landing area to just not pick up any hitchhikers.”
McDaniel said Troopers are actively searching for the individual and asked for the public’s help in their apprehension. ” We’re out there looking for this person so that way we can come in contact with him and if you know this person that we have a photo of up … we ask you again give us a call down here at the trooper station in Soldotna.”
