Troopers Seize More Than $50k In Drugs At Salmonfest

Alaska State Troopers assigned to the Anchor Point Post, and the Highway Interdiction Team intercepted and seized more than $50,000 in drugs being trafficked at Salmonfest in Ninilchik over the weekend.

 

Troopers contacted Anchorage resident Joshua “Charlie Hustle” L Brown, age 43 at the Salmonfest camping area in Ninilchik shortly before 4pm Sunday evening.  Brown was the subject of a complaint indicating he’d been selling hallucinogenic mushrooms inside the concert area.

 

When they were able to locate Brown, troopers were able to determine he was on parole for assault in the 1st degree, and was not in possession of a travel pass to be outside the Anchorage area. Brown was also determined to be intoxicated, and in possession of cocaine.

 

An investigation into Brown’s tent area resulted in troopers discovering a total of 92.5 grams of cocaine, 500 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 62.1 grams of methamphetamine, 100 tablets of suspected LSD, and over 200 grams of hash oil.  An additional 428 grams of an unknown white substance thought to be a synthetic narcotic were seized and will be sent for testing.

 

Other high potency THC products were also located.

 

Brown was remanded to Wildwood Pretrial for violating the terms of his parole.  Further charges are suspected once testing is complete.  The seizure is estimated at a rough street value of over $50,000.

 

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
