In the investigation following a May 29th traffic stop, Alaska State Troopers have seized over $15,000 in drug contraband.

During a routine traffic stop near Potter’s Marsh, Seward Troopers recognized behavior and signs of drug trafficking. The troopers initially stopped the vehicle in question due to its suspiciously low speed in the left hand lane – normally designated for vehicles passing, or traveling at faster speeds – as well as its expired registration tags. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Zerah Edrosa, 29, of Kodiak, and Cash Christensen, 45, of Seward. Edrosa was arrested for a felony warrant for Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances (MICS) 4, and Violating Conditions of Release (VCOR).

The vehicle was seized pending a K-9 drug detection sniff, and Christensen was released from custody in Seward.

The Soldotna K-9 Team was called in on June 1st to conduct a K-9 Drug Detection Sniff. The Soldotna K-9 officer indicated the presence of controlled substance odor on the vehicle. This enabled Troopers to obtain a search warrant. The subsequent search yielded approximately 65.45 grams of suspected methamphetamine (street value of $13,090), 106 M30 Fentanyl pills (street value $2,120), and approximately 17 Suboxone Strips. All contraband discovered was seized by AST.

Edrosa was issued a summons for MICS 2nd Degree, MICS 3rd Degree, MICS 4th Degree, and VCOR due to her still being in custody. An arrest warrant for MICS 2nd Degree and MICS 3rd Degree was issued for Christensen.

Christensen was arrested on June 20th.

An AST dispatch released on July 8th provided a full timeline of events for this investigation.
