The Tsalteshi Trails association has issued an official announcement of the 2020 Alternative Calendar. Due to the risks of congregating in large groups and breathing heavily, all in person events regularly planned for the summer are currently postponed.
To scratch that competitive itch, Tsalteshi will be running a series of socially distanced events, challenges, and routes. These will be posted on facebook and on our the Tsalteshi website and open to anyone who wants to participate.
Tsalteshi members who participate in these events can turn in their results to events@tsalteshi.org or at Beemuns Bike Loft to be placed on the Alternative Calendar leader board.
The events will be free to participate in, but due to the effort involved in putting on the events, and maintaining the trails system we are suggesting a $5 donation to TTA per event.
Alternate Calendar Event #1
An Enduro style event will be the first addition to our 2020 Alternative Calendar. Riders must follow the course as mapped/listed. Within the route are three Strava segments. Tsalteshi members times from those three segments, ridden in order, during one circuit of the overall route, can be submitted to the Alternative Calendar leaderboard.
The route, and segments can be found on Strava under 2020 SCS Alternative 1. Riders can submit screenshots of their Strava ride to events@tsalteshi.org, this page, or at Beemuns Bike Loft.
Riders are welcome to pre-ride the course and ride it as many times as they wish. But submitted rides must be from one complete loop of the route, ridden in order. The overall route time does not place on the leaderboard, but must be under two hours in total time. Riders are not in a race, nor are they riding a closed race course. All riders must obey all trail rules and etiquette, including yielding to uphill riders.
Segments are listed as from the start of listed trail, until the start of the next listed trail. For instance, Segment One starts at the beginning of M1 and ends where the singletrack enters up Bear.
