The Tsalteshi Trails Association request for a 10-year extension to its land lease with the Kenai Peninsula Borough was fast-tracked on Tuesday, December 1st with Ordinance 2020-47 heard at the the Lands Committee meeting in the afternoon and the ordinance placed on the consent agenda for the Borough Assembly general meeting on Tuesday night.
Lands Committee Chairman Assemblyman Richard Derkevorkian introduced Ordinance 2020-47 to the committee and Lands Management Officer Marcus Mueller presented the ordinance and called for unanimous consent.

Tsalteshi Board Looking For New Members
The Tsalteshi Trails Association is looking for several new board members for 2021. Board members are elected by the membership at the annual meeting in December. Terms are two years, with a maximum of four years served. The only requirements are that you be a member of the Tsalteshi Trails Association and in good standing for at least one year. Deadline to apply is November 30.
Tsalteshi Trails Youth Ski Program Needs More Coaches
The Tsalteshi Trails Youth Ski Program is looking for additional adult coaches for its winter youth ski program which begins in January 2021.
Youth coaches need to have some ski experience; however, do not need to be experts or certified instructors. According to the Tsalteshi youth program listing, “Coaches must be reliable, on time, able to attend all lessons and be ready with a lesson plan. Don’t worry, we’ll train you on how to coach!”
