Inspite of the lack of snow and changing temperatures, the Tsalteshi Trails Association is sponsoring events on the Tsalteshi Trail in the month of January.
Black Stone Axe Tsalteshi Ridge Run
The Black Stone Axe Tsalteshi Ridge Run will be contested on Sunday, January 11th beginning on the Wolverine Trailhead and running the Mosquito (snowshoe) trail to Skyview Middle School. Race distance is approximately 3 kilometers.
Start time: 1:00 p.m. Bib pick-up: 12:30 p.m.
Cost: $10 for TTA members $15 for non-members
Freezestyle XC Ski Race Series
The first race in the Freezestyle XC Ski Race Series is scheduled for Sunday, January 11th on the Tsalteshi Trails.
Race difficulty and distance will change each week; races are scheduled for each Sunday in January.
Start time: 1:00 p.m.
Early Registration: $10 for TTA members $15 for non-members Late registration $20
10th Annual Ski For Women
The 10th Annual Ski For Women event is scheduled for February 1st, Super Bowl Sunday, on the Tsalteshi Trails.
The event requires three-person teams. Each team must have one classic skier, one snowshoer and one skate skier. Individuals may sign-up and will be placed on a team.
No men allowed in the Ski For Women main event; however, a men’s “drag race” will be held following the women’s event.
Registration ends January 31. No late registration!
