Tsalteshi Trails Remain Open & Groomed For Outdoor Activities

Author: Coach Dan Gensel |

The Tsaleshi Trails, thanks to the efforts of the board, staff, groomers and volunteers, remain open for outdoor activities for the general public; the Tsalteshi Trails encourages every user to practice social distancing and good health practices while on the trails.

All trails, including Wolverine, Squirrel, Owl and the Slikok loops were groomed recently (Saturday).  Dogs are allowed only on the Slikok trails!  The Wolverine and singletrack are open to snowshoeing.

Announcement from Tsalteshi Trails facebook page on Saturday, March 28th…

Update Regarding State of Alaska COVID-19 Health Mandate 11:

In compliance with yesterday’s state-wide shelter in place order, our trail staff will be scaling back to essential maintenance of the trail system only until April 11th unless the mandate is extended or repealed by the state.

Tsalteshi Trails will remain open to the public as the state is still permitting outdoor activity given individuals maintain proper social distancing. We ask that during this time trail users refrain from congregating in close groups on the trails and to please abide by our winter trail rules as grooming will be less routine, so please don’t run/walk or ride fat bikes other than on designated trails.

Stay safe and healthy out there!
