The 32nd running of the Tustumena 200 is a go!
The Tusutmena 200 Sled Dog Race is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, January 26-27 with the start and finish at Freddie’s Roadhouse in the Caribou Hills. Freddie’s Roadhouse will also serve as the halfway point of the race with a major checkpoint also located at McNeil Canyon School in the Homer area.
2019 Race Coverage
Race coverage of the Tustumena 200 Sled Dog Race will be provided on ESPN 1140AM and www.radiokenai.com. Coverage of the race start begins at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, live from Freddie’s Roadhouse. Coverage of the race finish will be Sunday afternoon from the finish line at Freddie’s Roadhouse. Race Updates will also be provide Saturday and Sunday on ESPN 1140AM.
2019 Mushers: Past Champions
The 2019 Tustumena 200 will feature (on the current mushers list) four past champions from the race’s past eight runnings, including three-time champion Cym Smith. Lance Machey, race champion in 2008, Mitch Seavey, champion in 2013, Cym Smith, champion in 2009, 2012, 2017, and reigning champion from 2018 Nicolas Petit. The top three finishers in 2018, separated by less than thirty minutes, are all entered in 2019.
