Two runs in the eighth inning pushed the Post 20 Twins past the Fairbanks Post 11 in a 4-2 elimination game victory for the Twins at the American Legion Baseball state tournament at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage. on Wednesday.
The Twins advance to play Valley on Thursday at 11:00 a.m., another elimination game in the double elimination tournament.
Against Post 11, the Twins scored the game-winning runs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Kenny Griffin and Tommy Bowe scoring for the Twins, Jake Conver picks-up an RBI.
Klayton Justice closed-out the game on the mound for Post 20, striking out two in the ninth.
The Twins play Valley at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with the winner advancing.
