The Alaska 20 Twins, currently standing in second place in the American Division of the Alliance Baseball League, dropped a league contest on Tuesday to the Eagle River Wolves 13-2 at the Kenai Little League fields.
The Twins now stand at 3-2 with 15 points in the ABL, good for second place behind South Anchorage (21 points). The top two teams in the standings will automatically advance to the pool play, state tournament in late July.
Twins 2 – Eagle River 13
A game which started as a pitchers dual turned one-sided as Eagle River generated five runs in the fifth inning and six runs in the seventh inning for a 13-2 victory over the Alaska 20 Twins.
Alaska 20 starting pitcher Sam Berry allowed only one run on two hits through four innings; then the wheels came off! Eagle River scored five runs in the fifth inning including a grand slam home run by Orazio Ramos. Leading 7-0 in the seventh, Eagle River added six runs in the final inning on five walks, two hits and an error.
The Twins were held to three hits spotlighted by a 1 for 2 day for Mose Hayes including one RBI.

ESPN 1140 AM continues the summer baseball broadcast season with coverage of the Alaska 20 Twins league contest Saturday and Sunday at the Soldotna Field against Palmer and East. The league games will be broadcast on 1140AM and streamed live at www.radiokenai.com. Saturday and Sunday’s games are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. with the pre-game show beginning at 12:15 p.m.
Coverage of the Twins will include league road and home games and state tournament games in July.
