Twins Baseball Splits With Ketchikan; Falls To Fairbanks

Following an impressive 9-2 victory over Ketchikan on Saturday in game one of an American Legion doubleheader, the Twins surrendered a 9-8 walk-off loss to Ketchikan in game two.

On Sunday, The Twins again allow the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, this time to Fairbanks for a 7-6 Fairbanks victory.

 

Twins 9 – Ketchikan 2

The American Legion Post 20 Twins downed Ketchikan 9-2 in game one of two league games on Saturday in Anchorage.  Harrison Metz threw 5.1 innings for the win for the Twins.  Dalton Deborski collected three hits for the Twins.

Ketchikan 9 – Twins 8

Ketchikan scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off 9-8 victory over the Twins.  The Twins scored five runs in the fifth inning for an 8-6 lead over Ketchikan; Ketchikan answers with three runs in the seventh.

Fairbanks 7 – Twins 6

The Twins and Fairbanks traded blows throughout Sunday’s 7-6 walk-off victory for Fairbanks.  Fairbanks built a 5-1 lead after two innings; the Twins pulled to within a run at 5-4 after four innings and took the lead with a two-run top of the seventh.  Fairbanks scored two runs in the seventh for the 7-6 victory.
