Twins Clinch State Tournament Berth: Push On For Divisional Title

With a back-loaded regular season schedule which features nine league games in the final twelve days, the Post 20 Twins American Legion baseball team on the strength of five-straight league victories have clinch a spot into the 2019 Alaska Legion State Tournament.

 

The Twins defeated Palmer 4-1 in league play on Tuesday behind a Moses Hayes complete game.  The victory earned the Twins their 47th point in the standings, guaranteeing one of eight playoff positions in the upcoming state tournament.

 

The Twins, with four remaining league games, are making a charge for the American Division title and look to improve their seed into the Alaska Legion Baseball State Tournament.

 

Following Tuesdays Twins win, the Twins pass Palmer in the divisional standings; Kenai owns 47 points, Dimond 40 and Palmer stands in third place with 45 points.  South currently holds the top spot with 52 points.  The top three teams in the American and National Division’s automatically advance to the state tournament along with the next two, top point earners.
